After studying classical ballet at an early age, Tokyo-born dancer Misako Kikuchi went on to explore other dance styles such as modern ballet, contemporary dance, street dance or flamenco, while refining her own improvisational approach to dance. Following her inclination towards variegated, often experimental forms of music, she developed a very personal style that eludes any easy categorisation. Calling forth the music rather than following it, playing unaffectedly on contrasts and counterpoints, her performances create uncontrived moments of beauty that make you feel that being alive is not irreconcilable with being free.
クラシックバレエ、モダンバレエ、コンテンポラリー、フラメンコ等の様々なダンスを経ていく中で、自由で小粋なストリートダンスの熱量に最も魅せられ、ストリートダンスに重きを置き傾倒していく。
往前において経験した様々なダンスを礎としながら独自で紡ぐフリースタイルな表現で、ストリートダンスシーンでの活躍は勿論、自らで音楽を奏で踊る新奇なスタイルクルーmujerを始め、音楽とダンスの実験的イベントmodiなどの中核的存在として、従来のストーリーダンスの枠にハマらない、音楽とダンスの境界線を越えた活動を精力的に行い、唯一無二のスタイルを誇る。
その非凡なダンスセンスでメジャー、アンダーグラウドのダンスシーン、音楽シーン問わず幅広い分野で自らを表現、活躍し続けている。
チャットモンチー、石井竜也、TUBE、矢沢永吉等のツアーバックダンサー。小松未可子楽曲振り付け。チャットモンチー福岡晃子とのユニット「Super Benjamin」。sébuhiroko MV、ライブ振り付け、出演。LOSTAGE MV「ひとり」出演。
ミュージシャン、アーティストとの即興演奏でのライブパフォーマンス多数。中山晃子、Shantell Martin、伊東篤宏、池澤龍作、坂口光央、田ノ岡三郎、藤原大輔、南方美智子、山本達久、山田あずさ、芳垣安洋、吉田隆一、Palimpsest(Kelly Churko,Cal Lyall)、Oncenth Trio、ZycOs、Yvko Under、
Lo-shi(Gotal,Ralouf)などと共演。
2018年に、フレンチポリネシアに移住。コンテンポラリーダンスカンパニーKuhdoh開始。
Après avoir étudié très tôt le ballet classique, la danseuse et artiste visuelle japonaise Misako Kikuchi a exploré divers courants et styles tels que le ballet moderne, la danse contemporaine, la danse de rue, le flamenco ainsi que le ’Ori Tahiti et ce, en affinant une approche intuitive et toute personnelle de la danse. Suivant son inclination pour les formes musicales éclectiques et souvent expérimentales, elle a développé un style singulier qui échappe à toute catégorisation. Invoquant la musique plutôt que la suivant, jouant sans affectation sur les contrastes et les contrepoints, ses performances enfantent des moments d’une grâce saisissante et dont les palpitations sensibles sont à l'image de l'existence qu'avec une pudeur infinie, elles dévoilent.
